Here is a collection of nice things for web development.
Code Igniter - A nice php framework
Wordpress - Good for setting up sites quickly that need the client to be able to edit things easily.
JQuery - Great for many js things.
Meteor - A really nifty technology, its so interesting I may have to write another post all together with things I like from it.
Codepen - A brilliant development/debugging environment where you can test/share snipplets of HTML/CSS/JS without any hassle of adding in common things like jQuery, HAML, etc.
Also updates visually in real-time as you make changes.
